Jordan Bloomfield is an Educational Assistant by day and an unpublished author by night. Now, he is revealing the hidden side of his identity on this website.

Jordan Bloomfield is an avid reader and writer from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He has always loved making up stories since he was ten years old, and becoming a writer has been his ambition, but reading was a difficult challenge for him growing up. Even though there are ways to write without strong reading skills, especially with today’s technology, he has taken it upon himself to overcome his reading challenges so he can read novels that could inspire his own writing. He learned so much along the way, including many subjects he hadn’t had the opportunity to study in school because of his exceptional needs. He dedicated himself to self-education, learning more and improving in areas beyond his reading level. Thanks to his aspiration to become a writer, he had a more positive learning experience than he had in traditional education.

The uncovered part of his identity as aforementioned is his current profession as an Educational Assistant at a public high school. Because of his improved learning skills, he enrolled himself in a Secondary Education Equivalence program and earned a diploma which got him into college where he studied Educational Support. After he graduated from college, he became an Educational Assistant to support students with a variety of exceptionalities much like his own. His mission as an educator is to support students and help them learn by guiding them through the materials based on their own interests because like his learning experience, he believes with interest comes true desire to learn in a more positive way.

 

The interests that he explored and discovered during his self-education is reading, film, art, and music. He became a bit of a history buff and science nerd as well.

 

​He enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and of course his partner, Tara. They live together in Mississauga, Ontario with their dog, Topi. Area.
